Are you a Project Controls Professional looking to work towards becoming a Project Controls Manager?

Here at Infraspec we have the pleasure of working with a prestigious client of ours who are looking to engage with a Project Controls Specialist on a permanent basis to undertake the ownership of a multi-million/billion-pound high profile Rail based programme based in Birmingham. You will support all aspects of Project Controls including reporting, cost control, progress measurement, schedule control and development, change control alongside working with the risk team to discuss early warning signs and opportunities.

This position will provide you with the development and exposure required to be fast tracked to become a Project Controls Manager. Alongside this the business is offering a healthy basic salary of £45-55K depending upon experience, on top of this you will receive a £4K car allowance and private medical healthcare plus continuous training and development to ensure you achieve your career goals.

The Project Controls Specialist will be based in Birmingham 2 days a week with opportunity to work from home the remaining 3 days. Any required travel outside of Birmingham although very limited will be fully expensed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build and update resource loaded schedules

  • Work with the Risk team to facilitate weekly update meetings with the client to provide critical path analysis and early warning signs

  • Oversea the schedule, understand the change controls impacts whilst providing solutions to the client

  • Create, update, monitor progress curves

  • Produce high-level reports using Power BI, dashboards, Excel or similar

  • Track progress and productivity against cost control budgets

  • Track and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)

  • Analyse cost and schedule trends, reviewing cost, and schedule forecasts prepared by the Cost Engineering team

  • Set up, maintain, and update cost and financial systems for assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Thorough and extensive knowledge of: Project controls principles, theories, concepts, and tools.

  • Earn Value Analysis/Management experience

  • Previous experience with one or more of the following tools: Oracle Primavera, MS Project, Excel, PRISM (Cost Management System)

  • Cost experience

Salary - £45-55K (depending upon experience) + car + private medical
