We are currently dealing with a leading medium-sized consultancy who are looking for an individual to take up the position of Office Lead for their Glasgow Team. Candidates from a Civils, Structures or Geotechnical background would be preferable.
You will be expected to provide team oversight as Office Lead, as well as having day-to-day duties as an Engineer.
In the role, you will be reporting to the Managing Director and have management of the Glasgow Office. You will ensure that the Glasgow Office maintains its success, by attracting and continuing to support clients, as well as pushing the team in the right strategic direction. As Office Lead, you must have an awareness of resource management and be technically confident, as the team will need to be provided with strong leadership within their sectors.
Currently, there is a team of 6 Structures and Civils Engineers/Technicians, and it will be your duty to direct and develop this team. The hopes are that the team will be developed to approximately 20 individuals in the Glasgow office by the right candidate. Furthermore, you will also be expected to contribute to the company’s overall strategic plans, as well as implement the necessary devised strategies envisioned by the company. As part of this, you must also monitor feedback and support any changes made in team development and practices.
- Must be Chartered
- Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical background
- Engineering & Office Management duties
- Lead, support and develop the Glasgow team
- Communicate with staff on board, group and local developments
- Be well versed in project management to deliver profitable outcomes for company and client
- Lead business development and marketing
- Ensure training and support needs of staff are met
