The Client & Role | Who Are They?
We’re delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our retained client, an SME light engineering business involved in subcontract precision engineering to a range of industries. They have recently invested into plant capability and capacity which has provided a great foundation for future growth. They enjoy high levels of repeat business in their traditional core markets and are now looking to add further market share in these, but also diversity their customer base into new markets which can provide long term sustainable growth and further protect the business in periods of market uncertainty.
This role will form part of a 6 person commercial team and will be focussed on developing new customers in medical, renewables (covering EV, solar, wind) white goods, marine or chemicals. This is a new position in the business and isn’t intended to be a quick fix, so whilst bringing in new business quickly would be an added bonus, the intention is to build long term relationships.
The Candidate | What Are We Looking For?
In order to be considered for this role we are looking for the following:
Experience of selling mechanical components to OEM’s, Tier 1 and 2 customers.
Experience of selling into at least one of the following medical, renewable, white goods or marine industries.
Experience of new business development.
Ideally experience of selling subcontract manufacturing capability and capacity.
This is a team centric business and the commercial team work very closely together so those that prefer to work alone wouldn’t be suited to this environment. The company is based in Birmingham but is offering some flexible working to work from home 2-3 days per week when not out seeing customers, but it is important that you attend the office on a regular basis to be part of the team.
