Purpose of Job


Providing technical leadership, management, and development of engineering teams across all contracts ensuring operational and compliance standard are met and exceeded.
The role is to cover HV/LV strategies and development and the implementation of company CAFM (Opti-MIS) System Company wide. The role will so take charge of site mobilisations as project tasks.
Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for technical leadership and ensure that all technical service commitments are met.
• Responsible for technical mobilisation as and when new contracts are won.
• Responsible for HV/LV activities ensuring full compliance with Optimum HV/LV rules.
• Responsible for ensuring that Statutory & Code compliance of sites is adhered to by the local management team and supported by specialist when required,
• Ensure that Risk Management is being delivered across all contracts in a consistent manner.
• Ensure areas of team development are recognised and action plan in place,
• High Voltage authorising engineer
• Mechanical authorising engineer
• Confined Space authorising engineer
• Updates to the SSOW mechanical rules
• Updates to the SSOW LVHV rules
• Provide technical support to local teams.
• Ensure optimum staffing structures and competencies operate across all sites including HV/AP’s present always where required.
• Running LVCP and LVHV AP internal training program.
• Investigate and assist with RCA’s on major Operational incidents.
• Attend operational meetings as required.
• Actively promote management systems and processes that have been developed for Optimum across all contracts to ensure consistency.
• Attend regular meetings with Optimum site management to discuss any local issues or concerns.
• Communicate any contractual concerns with senior management to ensure resolution.
• Assist with contract bidding and mobilisation of new contracts.
• Design, develop and implement business leading concepts across the entire company
• Promote and maintain the core values of Optimum
• Mentor and lead technical team under the guidance of the technical director.
• Stand in to lead the technical team in the absence of the technical director.
• Providing reactive response, verbally/remotely to critical plant and systems outside of normal business hours, if necessary, in support of the on-site shift team on a 1 in 3-week escalation rota to support the contract assets.

Person Specification
Education A good general education is essential, with engineering experience and qualifications
Training Incumbents must be able to demonstrate a career showing continuous personal development and progression.
Up to date technical knowledge of Electrical mechanical engineering, and environmental regulations, and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Work towards professional membership and work towards becoming a chartered engineer.
Experience [Essential] Managerial experience at Contract/Account Manager Level within a hard services business is essential.
Practical experience must include HV switching and line management experience of large and diverse teams.
Technical experience in both Commercial Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Applications.
[Desirable] Delivery of wider facilities management services.
The development and review of teams, appraisal, and the application of effective people management practice.
Aptitudes Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Numerate and computer literate.
Character Excellent motivational and influencing skills, with high levels of personal integrity.
Has vision, and able to communicate this effectively. A role model for customer service excellence.
