Job title: Commissioning Engineer
Location: South West England
Our client is looking for a self-driven and highly motivated Commissioning Engineer to cover South West England and join their ever-expanding technical service team.
As a Commissioning Engineer you will play a vital role in the demonstration of all products, mainly site based, and you will be responsible for commissioning and overseeing the installation of equipment and systems.
The role also involves working closely with our external sales team and its customers to ensure successful project handovers and continuous customer satisfaction.
- Perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting tasks, monitor progress, perform tests, write reports and assist customers.
- Commissioning and on-site client demonstration of all products.
Partner to the external sales team and its customers.
Assisting in-house project engineer in preparation of O&M manual.
Reporting of on-site issues, probable causes and potential solutions.
Providing on-site maintenance contract support, covering both scheduled and emergency call-out visits.
Carrying out equipment take-offs from customer drawings and assisting with design quotations for the sales team.
Work cross-functionally as a business partner between the external client, the Special Projects Sales team, the Technical Services team and Customer Service team
Ensure that the customer has a smoothly delivered project experience.
Retrieve project information (drawings, lighting controls specification, commissioning schedule etc.).
Assist with the creation of lighting controls specification if not supplied (e.g. D&B related projects).
Liaise with the CAD team for creation/changes of AutoCAD drawings and coding schedules.
Your key skills and knowledge:
- Will have at least 2 - 3 years’ experience as a Commissioning Engineer.
- An electrical/engineering qualification (or equivalent).
Full UK Driving licence.
Will have a background in the electrical industry, preferably in electrical contracting / controls commissioning, although a mechanical / service background would also be considered.
Project management and general self-management skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Will possess excellent diplomacy and communication skills, as well as a strong ability to work well within teams.
Must be willing to travel to site and work out of hours / weekends as and when needed in order to meet project deadlines.
The ability to use your initiative and make decisions under pressure.
Be results driven with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
Communicate effectively and efficiently between multiple parties and be capable of building and maintaining working relationships.
