Engineering Manager – Bristol - £50,000 to £55,000 – 25 days holiday – Pension + Benefits
Melbreck Technical is working with a leading designer and manufacturer who are located in Bristol and have been trading for over 60 years.
They are known in their industry for innovative and quality products that last.
Due to a very successful 2020, they are looking to expand their technical function and as such are looking to add an Engineering Manager to their team.
Engineering Manager – Role Overview
As an Engineering Manager, you will be reporting to the Head of Product Development, and you will be responsible for the engineering development of all new projects from conception through to production.
Your role will be to lead the engineering function by managing the task allocation and priorities within the team, while leading the business in the adoption of engineering best practice.
Engineering Manager – Responsibilities
Solving any engineering issue that come up in projects.
Identifying potential patents and or registered designs on all new products.
Engineering feasibility studies of elements and systems.
Being fully accountable for engineering duties on multiple NPD launches.
Line management of team members, following HR practices and setting objectives/tasks.
Establishing engineering best practice, including protocols for product validation
Coach, mentor and motivate the Engineering team members.
Asses individual skill levels and create personal and professional development plans.
Engineering Manager – Candidate Requirements
Bachelors or master’s degree.
5 years of Engineering Management experience.
Good interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to communicate with representatives at any level or position.
Highly motivated with the ability to focus on details as well as the big picture.
Highly responsible team player, with ability to impact & influence.
Decision making & problem solving; ability for detecting problems and opportunities for improvement and for implementing corrective / preventative actions.
Flexibility and change adaptation.
Strong organisational skills.
CAD experience (ideally Solidworks).
Good Microsoft Office skills.

39 hours per week Monday to Friday
25 days holiday
8 days bank holidays
