Design Engineer required to join a leading manufacturer based in Wellingborough. The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will join the R&D department and lead development projects from initial concept through to full product realisation as well as redesigning existing products.
My client is looking for a Design Engineer with experience in mechanical design, 3D CAD experience, ideally Solidworks, and a Degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
£30,000 - £38,000 depending on experience
22 days holiday plus bank holidays
Lead development projects from initial concept through to full product realisation as well as redesigning existing products
Design & development of products using Solidworks, ANSYS simulation software and other techniques
Conduct stress calculations to validate the structural integrity of components and assemblies
Prepare drawings, documents and engineering calculations to support applications
Supporting the R&D department in research, development and testing
Help solve technical problems during manufacture and assembly
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Implement engineering change requests
Liaise with various engineering departments
Monday - Thursday 08:30 - 17:15, Friday 08:30 - 13:00
Office based in Wellingborough
Experience as a Design Engineer, Draughtsman or similar
Degree in mechanical engineering or similar engineering / manufacturing subject
A minimum of 2 years industry experience using 3D CAD is essential, preferably using SolidWorks
Experience in the design of new concepts, design for manufacture or redesigning of existing products
Proficient using 3D CAD (Ideally Solidworks)
Familiar with the principles of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) - beneficial
Commutable to Wellingborough
