At the leading edge of ceramic friction technology. Surface Transforms is looking for a Maintenance Engineer. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for maintenance throughout the plant in all areas such as manufacturing equipment, facilities, installation, and services of new machines.

You will be accountable for an efficient and effective application of the preventative maintenance schedule, including traceability of all work within existing systems. The role will require excellent problem-solving skills with a multidisciplinary engineering approach in both electrical and mechanical subjects.

What you will be doing

Comply with all H&S procedures, legislation and company policies

Ensure all work is undertaken to a high-quality standard

Work within 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain) methodology to maintain workplace to a high standard

Overseeing contractors when additional support is required

Plan and prioritise workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time

Implement preventative maintenance on all plant equipment, including the building (internal, external and security)

Responding to breakdowns at pace, identify fault and problem solve with minimal downtime to production

Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management

Responsible for all electrical work including lighting, installation & fault finding

Ensuring that all electrical drawings are up to date

Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs and future trends

Communicate effectively within all departments

Understand and operate within basic cost/budget measures

Champion continuous improvement throughout the Maintenance System

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience you will need to bring

You will hold an Electrical certificate including up to date regulations (relevant training and qualifications).

Need to have: 

A delivery focus approach to work

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative

Excellent communication skills

Knowledge of PLC’s, Variable drives, control, and instrumentation

Strong ability to learn

The ability to work well under pressure

The ability to work as part of a team and on your own with minimum supervision

MS Office skills

Nice to have:

A current driver’s license

Forklift License
