Associate Town Planner - London
Salary: Guide of £40,000 - £60,000 pa but negotiable depending on skills and experience, + benefits.
My client is a London based international interdisciplinary practice of town planners, urbanists, architects, designers, and engineers, who are searching for a dedicated Town Planner to join their busy and vibrant team. Having won over 1000 awards for design quality from international and national bodies, my client has cemented itself as one of the most innovative and progressive practices in the UK today.
The successful candidate will play a key role in a significant heritage building project. For this, the main duties will include working collaboratively with the project Design Team to create and communicate on planning issues at all levels, in order to support the design development and associated processes across the projects. This will include preparing planning strategies and communication strategies for the project and associated projects, and to oversee their delivery. An important part of this role will be the ability to liaise closely with senior members of the client body, liaise with external stakeholders, and to contribute to risk registers.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in development management and application production on large-scale projects. Experience of providing town planning advice on complex heritage projects essential. The candidate must show initiative to lead complex negotiations with clients, local authority, and community groups in order to gain planning permissions. A high standard of logic, dependency and related analytical skills required, as well as concise and accurate communication skills. Ms Office is essential, especially Word, and Excel, with PowerPoint InDesign being preferable.
