General Engineer (incl. Welding, Fitting & Fabrication responsibilities)
£11 - £15 per hour depending on experience
Our client specialises in the design and fabrication of their patented Subsea/Offshore Cold Cutting Saws.They provide green decommissioning solutions, improving safety, efficiency and environmental impacts and they have developed the world’s fastest pipe coating removal system and it has been designed to remove all types of protective coatings.
They now are looking for an experienced General Engineer to join their team.
The job will focus on production of our client’s machines and will require the ability to read drawings and manufacture parts to the drawings with sheet metal work, MIG welding and assembling. Painting parts will also be a primary task but drilling, tapping and other related tasks will be required alongside electrical/hydraulic work if possible.
Installation work, on customer international sites, may be required at infrequent times.
They are currently a small team and therefore additional duties may be required outside of the direct role. In particular, making deliveries/collections and any other duties in an emergency or at time of peak demand which are considered to be reasonable and within the employee’s competence.
Ad-hoc international travel (with paid expenses) to our client and customer sites will be required.
Candidates should ideally have previous experience working within a similar role in manufacturing and engineering.
- Painting skills
- Sheet metal work

- Ability to read drawings and manufacture parts to the drawing
- Drilling, tapping etc.
- Strong attention to detail
- Clean driving licence
- Electrical/hydraulic experience is an advantage in particular hydraulic hose swaging/fitting
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and Google Cloud
- IT savvy
- Strong communication skills
