GCA (UK) Ltd are a busy Civil, Structural, Highway and Transportation Engineering Consultancy with offices across the Midlands. We are currently looking for an ambitious and diligent Chartered Structural Design Engineer to join our team in Derby to assist with a wide variety of projects including domestic, industrial, commerical and conservation sectors.
The right candidate should be in possession of a structural/civil engineering degree or equivalent and be a full member of the IStructE or have the interview and exam booked within the next 6 months.
Essential technical knowledge to include experience with the structural appraisal of both commercial structures ad domestic housing stock. Knowledge of regional geographical conditions beneficial. Design skills to include a wide range of materials which must include a good design knowledge of concrete, masonry and steel. Also experienced with Tekla Tedds. An ability to write clear, concise and accurate reports is essential.
Desirable technical knowledge to include detailed design skills on complex engineering projects. Knowledge and experience to enable you to lead a team and delegate technical tasks effectively. Experience with SCIA and IDEA Statica is beneficial.
Ideally a minimum of 8 years post graduate experience, structural appraisal experience and varied design experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy.
The ideal candidate will be able to provide pivotal support to the current structures team within a thriving civil and structural engineering practice. You will be experienced in the cost-effective and timely production of residential property surveys with additional expertise in wider structural surveying and be expert in the compilation and production of supporting reports/documentation.
