Senior Engineer - Rail
Fixed Term Contract - 12 Months
About the role
Here at Babcock International, we're looking to recruit a Senior Engineer to join the team on a twelve month fixed term contract, providing the technical support to the Planning & Development Manager for the planning and delivery of track renewals ensuring all technical aspects of the works comply with relevant Group and Line Standards and safety legislation.
You will also undertake surveys, planning and programming of work, technical supervision on site, preparation of documents.
What do I need to do the role?
You must hold minimum HNC in an Engineering discipline or working towards, and ideally already have PTS and COSS.
You will have a good knowledge of Track Renewals Disciplines, and excellent knowledge of Rules & Regulations, H.A.S.A.W and other appropriate regulations as well as both group and line standards.
You must be able to carry out surveying and setting out duties, and control of excavation and construction of track duties using traditional and modern equipment including 3-D and total stations technology.
You must also be able to lead and direct work, and provide guidance / supervision to less experienced technical staff whilst working independently without supervision.
What else do I need to know?
The role is based out of Belfast however travelling to sites will be required across Northern Ireland.
Night and weekend working is also required.
