An expanding manufacturer of complex electronics based in South Wales has a new vacancy for a Manufacturing Engineer. With a good understanding of lean manufacturing techniques, design and new product introduction candidates are sought who have worked in complex assembly and electronics.
Commutable from: Bristol, Cardiff, Newport, Abergavenny, Caerphilly, Chepstow, Newport, Bridgend, Monmouth
Salary: £ 35,000 - £ 40,000 p.a. + bonus + pension + benefits.
Suitable For: Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, NPI Engineer, CI Engineer, Continuous Improvement Engineer, Lean Engineer.
The Role
Working on a number of new innovative programmes you will support manufacturing engineering projects to improve manufacturing processes, drive continuous improvement and support the development teams in day-to-day manufacturing engineering activities.
Key responsibilities:
Support operations on the introduction of new manufacturing processes
Apply a lean approach in manufacturing & engineering
Designing of mechanical fixtures & jigs
Provide engineering expertise to deliver projects and provide production support
The development and implementation of quality improvements
Provide technical support and expertise of manufacturing processes
Supervise production prototyping and initial production runs
Support and promote healthy and safety working practices
The Candidate
Degree qualified in a related engineering discipline, candidates are sought with strong CAD skills and you must have worked in a complex electronics manufacturing environment. With a good understanding of lean methodologies, new product introduction you ideally will have worked in advanced manufacturing such as defence, aerospace, energy, etc.
