Here at HM Land Registry, we have an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer (Support Technician) to join our team based in Plymouth. Joining on a full-time, Job share or part-time basis you will receive a competitive salary of £27,130 per annum, plus an IT allowance (non-pensionable) of up to £4,609 payable upon meeting qualifying criteria.
In line with current government guidance, the role will initially be home based so an induction and training will be carried out remotely, with full support from the team. Once safe to do so, your home office will be located in the vibrant waterfront city of Plymouth.

We are now looking for an Infrastructure Engineer (Support Technician) to join our Digital, Data and Technology team to help us to achieve this.
HM Land Registry's existing software systems and services form part of the critical national infrastructure, safeguarding land and property ownership valued at £7 trillion. This enables over £1 trillion worth of personal and commercial lending to be secured against property across England and Wales.
Responsibilities of our Infrastructure Engineer (Support Technician) include:
As an Infrastructure Engineer (Support Technician), you will perform a key role in providing an escalation point for technical queries. You will be involved in a variety of remote and user-facing support concerning our Windows-based platform.
Duties will include providing 2nd line support across our Windows-based platform and supporting 1st/2nd line teams to resolve issues that come in via our Service Desk. You will ensure incidents are resolved in a timely manner in accordance with defined Service Level Agreements and that documentation and records are created and updated as required.
What we’re looking for in our Infrastructure Engineer (Support Technician):
To meet the requirements for this role you will have experience of:
- Windows Server 2008 R2/2012 R2
- Windows 7/10
- MS Office Suite
- PC hardware repair
- Networking knowledge (LAN, IPv4, DNS, DHCP)
You will also be able to demonstrate experience in all activities associated with providing end-user PC support and problem resolution on PC hardware and software issues. In addition, you will have excellent planning, prioritising and problem-solving skills and be an exceptional communicator.
