The Client

Our client is a dynamic safety and engineering consultancy with a world-wide reputation for delivering quality solutions to the nuclear, defence, oil and gas and transportation industries. The Role

As a result of increased business, they are looking for experienced Design / Engineering Substantiation Engineers to join their expanding team. The individuals will be a key part of the specialist skilled Defence business and will be expected to work with the businesses valued clients to deliver key safety and engineering deliverables on a wide range of projects and platforms across multiple domains. Ability in the use of engineering tools and techniques together with excellent report writing skills is essential for the delivery of output. The role will involve visits to client sites, therefore the applicant should be prepared for occasional travel within the UK, and infrequent travel outside the UK.

Essential Skills & Experience

Mechanical, Civil/Structural and Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineers, qualified to at least degree level (Masters preferred) with experience in Engineering Design and the Design Substantiation of Engineered Systems, Plant and Equipment in support of Nuclear Facilities.

A minimum of 5-years’ experience of Design/Engineering Substantiation of Nuclear Systems, Structures and Components.

Knowledge of addressing Safety Functional Requirements (SFRs) for Class 1 to Class 3 Structures, Systems and Components (SSCs) and demonstrating compliance with modern standards is mandatory. Experience of supporting manufacture/construction, Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Commissioning of Nuclear facilities and justifying continued operation of SSCs is desired.
