The Role

The position will be working closely with Southco’s global customers, facilities, and suppliers. New products can include the modification of existing Southco products as well as the design of new innovative custom solutions.

You will be involved in projects from receipt of the initial enquiry through to the completion and handover to manufacturing facility.

You will be required to assist the Key Account Managers and customers in developing a product specification to address their needs, followed by creation of a concept solutions, through to the design and develop new Southco products to meet customer & internal requirements including cost, quality & time targets. Working within a project development team you will be responsible for all aspects of new product design including; 3D modelling and assembly configurations, 2D drafting, theoretical design analysis, product manufacturability and product validation and quality.

Your relevant tasks need to be completed in conjunction with Southco's PRO-04 system incorporating the needs of a customer, and any relevant industry standards.


  • Engineering Degree (or Product Design Degree) and professional experience
  • Proficient user of 3D & 2D CAD and PLM software (preferably NX & TeamCenter)
  • Knowledge of common manufacturing processes used at Southco
  • Customer first and must win mentality
  • Excellent communication skills and team work
  • European language eg German would be desirable
