Design Engineer / Product Engineer / Product Development Engineer / Draughtsman required to join a leading manufacturer based in Wellingborough.
The Product Engineer will join the R&D department and be responsible for managing & administering design change requests as well as life-cycle design support on existing, legacy & new products. This will include geometric tolerancing and new concept design & development.
The successful Product Development Engineer / Design Engineer / Draughtsman / Product Engineer must have 3D CAD experience (Solidworks would be preferred) as well as proven experience in geometric tolerancing, administering engineering change requests and life-cycle design from concept to manufacture.
Knowledge of PLM or PDM software would be advantageous. You’ll have a HNC, HND or Degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
£33,000 - £38,000 depending on experience
Pension – 5%
Evaluate and implement engineering change requests (ECR)
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Using 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and PLM (product lifecycle management) software
Preparing, maintaining and revision control of 3D CAD models, drawings and BOMs
Re-drawing legacy AutoCAD designs in SolidWorks
Life-cycle design from concept to manufacture.
Updating and correcting modelling errors in legacy SolidWorks Drawings
Oversee validation testing
New product development
Provide technical assistance during the manufacturing process
Liaise with various engineering departments
Based in Wellingborough
Flexi hours - Monday – Thursday with a half day on Friday. 37.5 hours per week
You must have experience evaluating and implementing design change requests
Proven experience as a Product Development Engineer, Design Engineer, Design & Development Engineer, Product Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Design Draughtsman, Project Engineer or similar
Must have Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
PLM software / PLM Systems experience advantageous
3D CAD – Preferably Solidworks
HNC, HND or Degree qualified in mechanical engineering, production engineering, aerospace engineering, automotive engineering, manufacturing engineering or similar
Commutable to Wellingborough
