We are currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Technician with a Mechanical bias to work at our client site in Ware.

To apply a range of Mechanical and Electrical skills to maintenance, modifications and new works and in so doing provide a safe, efficient service to the Company in compliance with recognised standards and regulations. Seek advice from the Supervisor on all matters appertaining to operational matters, regulatory and statutory compliance.
All duties and tasks undertaken are to be carried out to established cGxP standards.
To act as a Deputy for Process Supervisor in their absence or when requested or delegated to do so to ensure continuity of customer- liaisons and relations and service level agreements are maintained.
Perform testing and inspecting of mechanical systems in accordance with industry standards.
Provide accurate feedback and information including but not limited to completed test sheets, routine rounds inspection sheets and work dockets containing durations of maintenance activities and observations.
Ensure that all plant and systems are maintained and operated in order to provide maximum efficiency, availability and reliability.
Carry out remedial and/or refurbishment works arising from breakdown or maintenance inspections.
Respond to reactive maintenance/breakdowns and carrying out remedial work as necessary, providing feedback information to customer as required.
Assume the role of Competent Person (mechanical) as authorised by the Authorised Person Controller.
Develop and retain knowledge of site system failures and their causes and effects.
Notify Process Supervisor of the requirement of, or generate in their absence, relevant notifications and assist in client impact assessment.
Carry out minor new works installations and testing.
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of plant and adjacent areas.
Take the lead in specific jobs and to direct other craftsperson’s, technicians or contractors who may be in assistance.
To investigate diagnose and rectify faults to a proven level of competency.
Carry out isolations to company standards to enable the safe disconnection of electrical and mechanical equipment.
To operate and monitor plant items and services and to maintain such systems including the addition of chemicals and lubricants in accordance with current COSHH regulations.
Provide holiday and sickness cover for other colleagues.
To identity further training as part of the appraisal system to ensure that applicable levels of skilled competence are maintained.
To carry out duties in compliance with GSK, EMCOR procedures and their responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
To record in writing or by the use of IT systems, various information such as work done, time taken, material used etc, in the appropriate equipment logbook or asset history file in accordance with GxP record retention.
To issue and receive Permits-to-Work and related certificates.
To attend technical seminars and training courses as appropriate.
Maintain GxP standards with regards to cleanliness in work areas and of plant and equipment.
Record and request through the proper channels, parts needed, and spares used to ensure compliance with relevant SOP's appertaining to change control and control and use of GxP spares.
To have a thorough knowledge of fluid systems likely to be encountered, being able to fault find and rectify as necessary. Carry out cleaning, flushing and dozing as required.
To liaise with and assist the Process Supervisor in the generation and reviewing of assets/PPM's and for the prioritising of the day to day work, i.e. PPM's and reactive work orders to ensure compliance.
Attend and execute project protocols, factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests including IQ/OQ. Some factory acceptance tests may be conducted at factories outside the UK.
Be knowledgeable in the Operation and Maintenance of Pure Water Systems and its implications on GMP.
Perform other reasonable duties as agreed with supervisor/management team.
Support the Manager in the day to day implementation of EMCOR policies, procedures, standards necessary to maintain the integrity of ongoing operational activities and provide high quality service to customers in accordance with:

Health & Safety:
In conjunction with the HSE&Q team, regularly monitor the safety performance of all service aspects, identifying areas for improvement.
Ensure the attendance and completion of regular toolbox talks in accordance with local procedures.
Ensure you have appropriate PPE issued and it is worn in accordance with associated risk.
Ensure all equipment, tools and PPE are adequately maintained.
Must be self-motivated, a team player and have an adaptable/flexible approach.
The ideal candidate will have the relevant C&G, BTEC level 3, ONC/OND or NVQ level 3 in a mechanical discipline with complementary electrical knowledge.
The candidate would be ideally experienced in the pharmaceutical industry but not essential, other process automation industries such as the food industry would be a comparable environment.
The candidate will be articulate, numerate and IT literate.
Understanding of legislative compliance and contract law preferred.
Being commercially aware puts the candidate at an advantage.
Good all-round knowledge of Facility Management and Building Services Engineering.
The ability to establish, implement and monitor high standards of excellence in areas of quality, safety, compliance and operational performance.
Must be able to demonstrate a full and thorough understanding of operational health & safety.
Have good decision-making and communications skills.
Be resilient under pressure and be able to converse confidently with staff, suppliers and customers at all levels.
