A Phd in Aerodynamics or similar Aerospace/Physics discipline OR a Masters in the same fields with several years industry experience is expected
Experience using Ansys Fluent in a post graduate or industry environment is expected.
Experience modelling rotating machinery e.g. pumps, ram air turbines, etc. in Ansys.
Experience modelling bluff body and transient external aerodynamics in Ansys.
Experience modelling high-speed short-duration dynamics of pneumatic systems with Dytran, LS Dyna or another tool - desirable.
Experience modelling impact dynamics such as bird strike, crash tests or drop tests with Dytran, LS Dyna or another tool - desirable.
A strong understanding of engineering subjects including solid and fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, control theory and aerodynamics.
The ability to understand and analyse complex technical problems.
Drive and enthusiasm.
Self-motivation and problem solving ability with excellent attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal, reporting and presentation skills.
A desire to learn and develop.
As a Simulation & Modelling Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:
Modelling of products at all stages of the life cycle from concept through to in-service.
First principle hand calculations up to complex cosimulations of multiple integrated systems.
Real-time, hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop modelling.
- Integration with customer and supplier models.
Component, system, ground and flight test support.
Detailed analysis of large data sets to confirm performance, validate models and solve problems.
