Structural Engineer


This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Structural Engineer to join an extremely successful and versatile Engineering team.  Based in Bristol, this is a unique opportunity to become part of the established and growing Civil and Structural Engineering team, working on varied and interesting commissions.


This person is needed to bridge the gap between the design team and senior management. We are looking for someone who is comfortable managing their own projects and giving direction and assistance to Graduate Engineers


About the role:


 
  • Reporting directly to the structural engineering team lead, you will be delivering projects within the Southern region and with the wider UK Engineering teams
  • Delivery of scheme and concept designs of a wide range of engineering projects across a variety of sectors
  • Attendance at client, design and site meetings
  • Delivery of detailed design, including tender and construction packages
  • Provide excellence in everything that you do - You will be mentored and trained towards this aim
  • Involved with new build and refurbishment building projects
  • Liaison with statutory authorities, architects, design teams and contractors
  • Exposure to some of the latest design software e.g. Structural design - Tedds and Tekla Structural Designer and drawing production - AutoCAD and Revit
About you:
  • MEng / BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering with experience in building structures design
  • Working towards or already achieved chartered membership of IStructE or ICE – this business operates an approved training scheme for the ICE and will offer support or a training agreement
  • An enthusiastic and professional approach to engineering problems
  • Adaptable with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good attitude to health and safety practices within the work place
  • A strong commitment to knowledge acquisition and CPD
  • Fully IT literate and proficient in the use of standard Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to learn how to use Technical design software. Full training is provided in the use of all design software
  • Suitable for security clearance
  • Full UK driving licence
