We are currently recruiting for a GMP Engineering Technician to be be based at our client site in Hertfordshire
Working hours: 8:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday
Under the direction of the GMP Team Leader to carry out maintenance functions at the client site. In particular the post holder will be responsible for Electrical, Mechanical and Building Maintenance services.
Ensuring all Planned Preventative Maintenance is completed to schedule
Conducts preventative maintenance on machines and equipment by checking for smooth operation of the same and replacing worn and defective parts.
Rectification of the same and replacing worn and defective parts.
Carry out routine maintenance work associated with all electrical and mechanical systems
Supervise specialist contractors ensuring all certification / documentation is filled accordingly
Isolates defective equipment from power supply, checks visually for faults, tests mechanical parts for faults, isolated the problem areas and take corrective action to repair the problem.
The installation of electrical systems and associated equipment followed up with the appropriate certification.
Support the multi skilled Engineering Supervisor in all aspects of compliance
Respond to requests made via the Help Desk
Carry out task related “Risk Assessments” and maintain records
Direct all non compliance with Environmental and Health and Safety standards
Control of good housekeeping and good working practices.
Comply with all company procedures.
Provide assistance to third parties as and when required.
Assistance on other areas of the site can be expected
Taking an active part in the on call system, which may require the applicant to become an authorised person (Electrical, Confined Space or Pressure Systems)
Ensure full compliance of the companies Safety Rules and apply good engineering and safety practices.
Multi skulled background with a good understanding of steam generation and HVAC systems.
Must be willing to undertake company standard internal training workshops and work to GMP (Good Manufacturing practice) if applicable.
The responsibility for allocated work orders from receipt to completion.
Provision of information on progress of allocated work orders.
Adherence to all current company procedures.
Adhere to the Quality Management System applied to M&E systems.
Ensuring continuous improvement for drive and value for money.
Willing to work in secure and sensitive environment on an exclusively manned site.
Time served apprenticeship or qualification to ONC Level or equivalent in either a refrigeration, electrical or mechanical discipline.
Substantial operational and technical experience with demonstrated potential.
Technical experience, qualifications or apprenticeship in a craft skill or engineering discipline.
Qualified to City & Guilds 2360 Part 1 & 2 or equivalent. 17th Edition or equivalent is also required.
C&G 2391-10 Inspection & Testing and C&G 2391-20 Design and Verification preferred but not essential.
To have a working knowledge of the current HVCA Codes
Holder of BOAS (Boiler operation accreditation scheme) essential
To work reasonable overtime as and when required.
Requires participation in an on call roster. The frequency of this rota may change with reasonable notice being given to the employee.
