Position: Technical Consultant / DBA

Location: Home based with regular travel to Altrincham office

Salary: £45 – 50K + comprehensive range of Employee Benefits

Summary

Working as part of a collaborative software delivery team within this specialist provider of Health & Care software solutions, the Technical Consultants are responsible for software implementations and upgrades of their highly successful software solutions to their NHS Customers. The role includes:

  • Implementation and ongoing maintenance and support of Applications, Databases and related infrastructure provisioned for developing and delivering solutions both externally for customers and internally to support development and testing requirements.
  • DBA activities for SQL Server and Oracle databases for Hosted customers and Internally and extend the service to wider group where required

About You

Essential Skills:

  • 5+ years DBA experience administering SQL Server to version 2017 (SQL 2019 is desirable), DBA duties to include resilience, disaster recovery, performance tuning, operational support, security administration etc.
  • Any DBA experience of administering Oracle Databases 11g, 12c and 19c is highly desirable
  • Experience with SQL Server Agent, SQL Server Replication, SQL Server Always On
  • Knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), (SSIS a bonus)
  • Installing, configuring & troubleshooting Windows Server 2012R2/2016/2019 Operating Systems in enterprise scale environments
  • Technical knowledge of both hosted and remotely administered environments and infrastructure
  • A flexible, customer focussed approach to work
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to be flexible, adaptable, think on your feet and work on your own initiative
  • UK Driving license
