Infrastructure: Quantity Surveyor ( Rail )

About the role

Due to recent growth and new projects coming on board, my client is now looking for a Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager based in the North or Midlands of England. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing Real Estate & Infrastructure business where you will be based in Birmingham/Midlands, working with clients in the Rail, Utilities and Environmental sectors. 

What you will do:

  • Estimating and cost planning
  • Production of feasibility studies and estimates from minimal design information, through to detailed cost plans
  • Interfacing with the client and other consultants
  • Work according to the agreed technical approach and to the required technical quality standards and procedures
  • Commercial support to Project Manager with Compensation Events
  • Provide support to the Project Manager in agreeing monthly payments to the Contractor
  • Attend project site locations for project meetings
  • Monitor the costs of projects and their progress in relation to the programme and budget
  • Perform all RICS core competencies and RICS QS Competencies

Your experience will include:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience and knowledge of within the Infrastructure sector
  • Educated to degree standard in related subject
  • Membership of a relevant professional institute
  • Extensive professional experience within a consultancy environment
  • Evidence of leading projects in a client facing role
  • Extensive experience of NEC3 ECC Option A and/or C
  • Experience working on large scale projects within the Infrastructure sectors is desirable
