It is an exciting time to join Golden Lane Housing as we continue to build relationships and deliver an excellent service to our internal and external customers. We are looking for a Compliance Officer who will manage the central administrative compliance staff based at our Manchester head office and undertake field based work.
This is a full time permanent role to be based at our Manchester office.
You will be responsible for the service contracts for the Compliance Big 6 – asbestos, electrical, fire safety, heating, water hygiene and specialist equipment, as well as ensuring all servicing and legal requirements are adhered to. You will also support our growth targets by providing support and specialist knowledge to acquire and develop new services.
You will work closely with the Compliance Manager, the Compliance Officers and other internal stakeholders to ensure that all GLH properties are maintained to a high standard. It is important that you split your time working in the office and out in the field inspecting properties and providing a technical maintenance resource. You will manage the Compliance Assistants who will support you with administrative tasks, including diary management, system updates and customer calls.
We need someone who can hit the ground running and has strong experience of working in a similar environment. This role is extremely varied so requires an individual that can multi-task, prioritise, take direction and work on their own initiative.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience required:
- Previous Experience undertaking management of Gas Safety Programme for housing portfolio
- Ability to prepare and interpret numerical data and explain to other
- Good Understanding of Key “Big 6” Compliance Areas – Gas/Electric/Fire Safety/Asbestos/Legionella & Specialist Equipment
- Previous work in scenario with vulnerable customers, potentially with a Learning Disability (LD)
- Prepared to support out on the road if needed with property visits
- Experience with managing team/admin assistants
- Provide Technical Surveying Resource, good knowledge of repairs
- Recognised professional qualification within one of the compliance areas
- Ability to write clear, concise letters and reports
