The position will have 4 direct reports with circa to 15 to 20 non-direct
Running a 5 shift system - Continental shift pattern
The position will be a regular day's position, but will require the individual to attend site for emergency out of hours.
The manager will provide a safe compliant working environment for all employees, providing a quality engineering service with planned maintenance schedules to meet the Manufacturing needs of the business unit. Ensuring equipment is maintained to the required standards to meet the plant efficiency's
Responsibilities of the manager:
Ensure site compliance with all regulatory and corporate environmental, health and safety standards.
Provide leadership and direction for the engineering team ensuring that they meet business deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards.
Promote safety and environmental issues to raise awareness of company and legal compliance requirements across the site, providing direction on safety and environmental needs to comply with competency requirements.
To provide input to the site safety committee.
Responsible for overseeing all the site's major engineering projects.
Responsible for ensuring deadlines are met, quality maintained, and budgetary controls adhered to.
Manage implementation of maintenance schedules and other maintenance tasks.
Provide engineering resource for the site for new and existing plant and equipment.
In conjunction with Plant Management and Senior Management, develop business strategy for the Site engineering function, managing resources to meet Company goals.
Experience of project planning and ability to liaise with other departments to ensure all requirements are met.
Requirements of the Manager:
Preferably Engineering university degree or equivalent.
Background in packaging preferred
Extensive experience as a senior manager, leading teams
Leadership qualities. Able to inspire, influence and lead a team
An understanding of high-speed manufacturing / KPI's is essential.
Extensive job-related experience, in both maintenance and engineering
Good working knowledge of Excel, Word & PowerPoint is essential, experience of other manufacturing systems would be advantageous
An understanding of production equipment, requirements for efficiencies.
