We are pleased to be accepting applications for our 2021 Graduate Engineer Scheme. Our Graduate Engineers shall embark on a one to three year graduate programme to gain all round knowledge and understanding of the BUUK businesses. They will stream to either gas, electricity, water, fibre or heat & energy centres; being involved in the design, construction, testing, commissioning of the asset and the continued maintenance and asset management in perpetuity. Our graduates also get involved in specific projects to gain experience.
BUUK’s head office is at Woolpit in Suffolk and we operate primary offices throughout the UK in London, Cardiff, Leicester, Leeds and Glasgow. Graduate Engineers will be based at one of the offices however, for parts of the training be expected to stay near other offices for short periods. This is for the benefit of the Graduate Engineer to be exposed to a diverse training programme in all utilities, something that is unique within the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity to begin your career with a growing company that will support you at every step of the way to attain the professional status of Incorporated Engineer within three years and Chartered Engineer within five years with a relevant engineering institution and accredited with the Engineering Council. The Graduate Engineer Scheme is approved by relevant engineering institutions.
A bespoke training programme for each Graduate Engineer will be in place, and you will be assigned two mentors. An experienced senior manager, and a previous Graduate Engineer who will be able to provide support and guidance at every stage of your journey. Candidates should be on track to gain a Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree (minimum 2.1) on a course registered with a relevant Engineering Institution, to allow progression through the programme leading to IEng and CEng. You will want to take the next step in your career and work hard at all elements within the scheme. Applicants should also either a hold a driving licence or be in the process of obtaining one.
