Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Birmingham, B24

Salary: Competitive 

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Working for the lean manufacturing and design team; designing machinery for Automotive, Aerospace & Warehousing Industry
  • Designing fixtures, jigs, assembly benches to semi-automated benches to aid customers in manufacturing process
  • Issue manufacturing drawings and liaise with the workshop
  • Follow up with manufacturing and ensure correct interpolation of drawings and projects
  • Follow up projects commissioning
  • Liaise with customers and build relationships

Mechanical Design Engineer Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject
  • 5+ years’ experience in a design or mechanical engineering role (Significantly advantageous)
  • Experience of Catia V5 Mechanical Design (Part Design, GSD & Product Assembly) (Advantageous)
  • Experience of SolidWorks and PDM (Essential)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks
  • Task Focused
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Full UK Driving License
