As Quantity Surveyor you will join a team to successfully deliver cost management support and assurance focus for major construction projects in Belfast and Northern Ireland.

As Quantity Surveyor you will provide cost and contract management services to support construction project planning and delivery including preparation of tender documentation, cost / value management, contract management and performance measurement. In addition, you will support the Project Delivery function in maintaining a best practice assurance framework for cost and contract management and to support the successful delivery of construction projects. Reporting to Commercial Manager you will work closely with Project Managers and external Cost Managers / Quantity Surveyors and Contractors.

As Quantity Surveyor your new role will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Provide assurance to the Commercial Manager and support Project Managers with respect to compliance with agreed cost and contract management systems and procedures within the Project Delivery.
  • Develop a database of cost information to support future contracting strategies.
  • Prepare cost and contract information for monthly KPI report and collate data for the development of cost database.
  • Prepare tender documents. (ITT, PQQ.) including Contract Data, Works Information, Scope and pricing Documents and check same for documents prepared by others.
  • Undertake contract reviews to identify efficiency opportunities, VfM, risk contingencies and lessons learned.

To be considered for this role you will have a minimum of a Quantity Surveying or other relevant Construction Management Degree

Essential experience should also include the following:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a construction contract environment
  • Experience in construction contract management and administration
  • Experience in measurement and valuation of construction works
  • Detailed knowledge of past and current building and construction technology, processes, materials and business
  • Understanding of budget control and management of budgets
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary project management process environment
