Immediate Vacancy - Structural Design Engineer

Due to expansion we are looking for Structural Design Engineer to join our Northern England based client. Our client's services to the construction industry involve the design, manufacture and installation of high quality cold-formed structural steel across the country, and the position of Design Engineer working
within their design team will be to use Tekla to design low to medium rise buildings whilst also providing technical support on projects.
The design of low to medium rise buildings using Tekla
Adherence to the Integrated Management System
Undertaking concept designs and planning projects at concept stage on a wide variety of buildings - communicating with internal/external contacts (Technical Sales, Client, Installation Team)
Responsibility for the production of
structural engineering calculations for light gauge steel frames
Delivering excellent project work within agreed deadlines and budgets
Interact and cultivate relations with clients and other project members
Keep management informed of important and
relevant design decisions to make sure that the objectives of the
company and client are achieved
Representation of the company at meetings with clients and suppliers
Undertake site / client visits as and when required to discuss projects and plans
Any other task commensurate with this post
ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years working experiuence within designing and working on cold-formed structural steel projects and have an excellent working knowledge of the
The Ideal Design Engineer:
Experienced with Tekla
Experienced working on LGSF / load Bearing / Timber-frame / Off-site Modular projects.
Comfortable undertaking hand calculations and
using spreadsheets as standard, but able to demonstrate ability to use
3D modelling software
Bachelor's degree BEng / BSc or Masters degree MEng / MSc that meets the engineering academic requirements for Chartership
Good all round communicator
Ability to work well as a team and also alone
Attention to detail and be fully computer literate
Ability to work to deadlines and to work under pressure
