General Manager - European Civil Engineering Contractor - TAX FREE

Our client is a long established European Civil Engineering contractor who have been involved in highway, bridges and mining projects across West Africa for many decades.

The are now looking to recruit an experienced Civil Engineering professional to join their team in Nigeria as General Manager.

Based in Abuja and reporting to the MD, the General Manager's responsiblities will include:

  • The operation of up to 20 sites spaced throughout Nigeria.
  • Overseeing and guidance of  50+ expatriate and 1,000 + local staff.
  • Meeting clients in regards ongoing and new works
  • Developing and progressing local staff.
  • Budgeting operations and allocating equipment, staff etc.

The ideal candidate will already possess:

  • 20+ years industry experience - ideally including 5+ years overseas.
  • Contractual and financial awareness.
  • A civil engineering contractor background.
  • Civil engineering sector experience such as: bridges, mining, quarry etc.
  • Experience in West Africa / Nigeria - preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer/Builder
  • Relevant professional qualifications.

In return for the above, our client will offer a Tax-Free basic salary - negotiable on experience, plus accommodation, transport, local allowance, food, flights & medical.
