Job Title: High Voltage & Infrastructure Engineer (12 hour shift pattern)
Salary: DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HV and Infrastructure Engineer to join a fantastic company in Sheffield who are a global leader in their field. The role would suit an experienced HV Engineer with previous supervisory experience, and offers opportunities for professional growth and development.
The role is working 12 hour shifts and includes both night and weekend work, but in return offers an opportunity to join a passionate, progressive and highly successful business.

-Providing a complete electrical engineering service in regard to the high and medium voltage distribution system operations and maintenance
-Acting as Engineer in Charge
-Electrical installation work to BS7671
-Supporting Electrical Section Engineers on project work and abort reduction activities
-Supporting Shift Engineers and Electrical Maintenance Engineers as required on breakdowns and repairs
-Carrying out, recording and developing maintenance on the High and Medium Voltage Distribution networks throughout 4 sites, all based in Sheffield
-Making recommendations to the projects team for development of the site electrical infrastructure equipment, to be included in capital spend requirements
-Operating and maintaining a computer-based electricity metering system, and recovering data from the system as required
-Carrying out/supervising testing of portable appliances and fixed wiring installations
-Approving safety method statements and overseeing work carried out by contractors
-Liaising and working with the Electricity Supply Authorities, especially in emergency situations

The ideal candidate will have:
-Sound technical knowledge of power system behaviour with a minimum of a relevant ONC or 5 years of practical experience
-Experience of working alongside and operating live switchgear and plant operating at voltages up to and including 33,000 volts
-Knowledge of National Grid and Yorkshire Electricity procedures
-Working knowledge of power transformers and tap-changing equipment, battery systems and high power cable and busbar systems
-Good computer, letter and report writing skills
-Good attention to detail and organisational skills
-Previous supervisory experience would be ideal
