We are currently representing a global business that design & manufacture functional electro-mechanical products that are supplied into a range of commercial environments and that are used by professionals on a daily basis.

Due to company expansion are looking for a production engineer to join the team. Your responsibility is to support production in ensuring that it runs smoothly on a day to day basis. The role is diverse in that you will be working closely with design engineers, quality and production teams to resolve technical problems and to improve manufacturing techniques.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Input into new designs to ensure ease of manufacture and assembly.
  • Working with different departments and suppliers in resolving quality issues and putting in place robust corrective solutions.
  • Assisting with shop floor layout and cell designs.
  • Collate and analyse warranty information.
  • Designing of fixtures and tooling for assembly tasks.
  • Generating production documentation such as assembly instructions.
  • Overseeing the introduction of new products into production.
  • Understand Lean tools such as Kanban's, 5S and value stream mapping. Also experience in activities such as value engineering.
  • Introducing new process and equipment to reduce cost and save time.
  • Carrying out any other duties that may be required from time to time.
  • Ensuring that the company complies to all health and safety, and environmental legal requirements.

What we are looking for:

  • 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment (Ideally medium volume manufacture)
  • You will have an eye for detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Able to demonstrate personal success in the achievement of continuous process improvement.
  • Computer literate fully conversant with MS Excel, Word and possibly Access.
  • Knowledge of problem-solving techniques.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
  • To understand root cause analysis.
