Graduate Structural Engineer

Established in the 1970’s, their experience is wide ranging. They began as a steel fabricator, constructing frames for major clients. We grew our business alongside our counterparts, expanding our knowledge and product range and furthering our influence.
In early 2000’s, they diversified, moving into the engineered timber industry. This change saw the business grow rapidly - they began building a number of supermarkets for environmentally conscious retailers. Since them, they have worked on a vast array of projects including multi-national commercial HQ's and large-scale residential developments. To date they’ve worked on some of the UK’s most innovative, sustainable projects. Whilst they continue to work with steel, they are now the market leader for CLT and hybrid construction projects.
Joining the company as a Structural engineer you will report directly to the Design/Technical Manager. You will be expected to produce structural designs including both member and panel sizing as well as connection designs for tenders and live contracts. The day to day role will include assessing designs internally and externally, as well as doing calculations to back up proposals.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Ideally you should be keen to broaden your knowledge of engineering to include fabrication techniques, temporary works, connection design and 3d modelling as well as scheme and detailed design in engineered timber (CLT/Glulam/hybrid structures).
- MSc or MEng qualified and be working towards chartership with the ICE or IStructE.
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to read engineering drawing..
£20K - £25K depending on experience
Annual: 25 days (3 days taken for Xmas, thus 22 days remaining)
Statutory: 8 days
