Structural Engineering Team Leader
They are shortly moving into new state of the art offices in SE1 which will house approximately 500 staff.
The buildings team offer structural engineering support to all the divisions of their business, hence the workload is very varied.
They work on a collaborative, design led approach; focused on client solutions, design by work shop (not just analysis), and see the bigger picture for their clients. They take a "best athlete" approach to projects, and do also work with external architects. They won an IStructE Awards last year for one such project. They know that sometimes they have to work with external architects (not just their internal ones) to get the best outcome. They are also very hot on teamwork, looking at how things get built and providing a real input. They promote grown and development of their staff, promote from within where possible and support in personal growth and development.
The buildings team deal with the buildings solutions for all the firms projects, so work ranges from nuclear buildings, airports, rail buildings, schools, international projects, datacentres, retail, commercial, and various major infrastructure schemes across the country. All of the UK major infrastructure projects that the practice are involved with have all sorts of buildings involved.
To be considered for this role you need to be experienced at leading a team of 6-8 staff and Chartered MIStructE or MICE. Technical excellent is a must, as well as excellent communication skills and a collaborative nature. You must have a strong desire to join one of the leaders in the engineering field and help drive their buildings division forward.
