Centrica has an exciting opportunity for a talented Project Engineer to join our Centrica Business Solutions business in Salford Manchester (UK). The business is a leading provider of sustainable and energy efficient CHP (Combined Heat & Power) based solutions to clients in many private & public sector industries. Location: Based within our Salford office (Manchester), with travel to UK based client sites

The Role

This is a key role which is responsible for managing CHP installations from order through to Commission & Handover.

Other Accountabilities:

Overseeing of both permanent and contract staff as required
Budget setting & control
Ability to manage a project and provision of a delivery plan
Reporting to the projects leader on project / workload progress / risks
Management of clients and suppliers
Health & Safety
CDM Compliance (where required)
Identification and selection of suitable contractors & service providers
Contractual responsibility for sub-contractors
Understand requirements of RAMS and consistency

The Person

The role involves the management of delivering the CHP product from order placement through to commission & handover to the customer and thus excellent communication skills both written and verbal are a necessity.

A background in Mechanical and / or Electrical engineering in the building services field is key to this role. Construction site industry knowledge of M&E installations would be advantageous although bespoke training on the CHP product and its interfacing with building systems will be given. The successful candidate should have site safety and technical accreditation such as SKILLS / CSCS.

Knowledge of Construction, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering disciplines and processes
Commercial Know-how and negotiation skills
Excellent planning ability and forecasting
Good knowledge of Health & Safety and quality procedures
Organised and Self Motivated with a keen eye for detail
Consideration may be given to suitably experienced and qualified M&E Installation engineers
Hold a full UK driving licence
