This is one of Lincolnshire’s gem businesses. Responsible for proactively protecting their patch of Lincolnshire from flooding, draining and staying drained.
The office and depot are based in Swineshead and your patch will cover over 750km of watercourse and includes a whopping 34 pumping station.
The area covered by this Drainage Board includes, parts of Boston, Sleaford, Bourne and Pinchbeck.
As the Works Manager, you will be the link between the Maintenance works Foreman /Supervisor and the Operations Manager. Project managing the on-going maintenance of works, as well as small civils projects such as replacement culverts.
Duties of the job will include but not limited to:
- The day to day management of the Operations and works team
- Improvement and maintenance project management
- Elements of HR such as timesheets, grievance and promotion
- Program of works
- Active link between numerous internal and external customers
This is a role that requires a strong people person. You will need to be able to get the best from your teams. You will be required to communicate with customers both internally and externally, these include engineers, ratepayers, consultants, customers, partner organisations as well as your internal customers, such as the GIS technician, pump engineer, planning and bylaw engineer and works supervisor.
Coming from a Civils back ground, you will need to be an experienced Project Manager and working in an environment as the drainage board is, you will be happy running many projects at a time.
This board operates a 38 hour week, however in times of flood risk you may be required to extra hours as required by the business.
