Mechanical Machinery Design Engineer urgently required for a well-established automation business with a solid growth plan in place. Working with leading blue chip clients across a wide variety of industries, they have a proven background of delivering successful designs for complex bespoke machinery and robot/automated assembly systems.

The Mechanical Designer will undertake a varied project portfolio using SolidWorks 3D CAD.

Duties will include:

To be part of a multi-disciplinary team to lead design concepts for bespoke automation system solutions

Where required be involved in system concepting for quotations using 3D and 2D CAD from URS documents

Expert level in the use of 3D CAD - Solid Works.

To understand the project time scales and the associated challenges to ensure design completion to the agreed project plans.

Have good knowledge of detail design and geometric tolerancing

Have good understanding of the Machinery (safety) regulations, relevant EU harmonized standards and PL rating, Risk Assessments and CE marking.

Implement proven cost effective machine design techniques and standards

Conduct FMEA for internal and external analysis.

Generate FDS, DDS documentation as required.

We are seeking applicants ideally educated to HNC/Degree level in Mechanical Engineering with experience working in an automation/machinery design role

This role is based in the Home Counties and is commutable from within and around the following areas: Daventry, Rugby, Northampton, Wellingborough, Kettering and Milton Keynes.
