E&I Technician (Engineer)

At our Oakenholt mill in Flint, north Wales we are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to work Mondays to Fridays, taking responsibility for the electrical health of one of the paper machines. As one of the engineers in the support team, you will be accountable for maintaining the machine from an E&I perspective, based on preventative and predictive maintenance concepts.
As the Electrical & Instrumentation Technician, you will have strong troubleshooting skills for technical issues with the ability to problem solve using root cause analysis. You will support and coach your operational colleagues in resolving the technical issues on the machine.
You will also take ownership for your work on our paper machines. Each paper machine can fill a large sports hall, and are technically complex. Our focus is on continuous improvement and maintaining an excellent H&S environment. As an E&I Technician you will play a key part at working to meet KPI and site objectives to maintain a smooth production process in the manufacturing of our branded tissue products, that include Velvet and Tork.

Electrical Engineering NVQ L3, HNC or equivalent
Proven experience in a similar electrical function and industrial environment
Experience of PLC systems and panel wiring
Experience of overseeing contractors
knowledge of budget management
Knowledge of process instrumentation and actuators
Knowledge of electrical code
Strong communication skills
Strong PC skills (excel, word)Desirable:
Experience of Siemens Step 7
High Voltage experience
