Sales Engineer (Boiler Economisers), Job Ref. JO3067
Manchester based with travel
Permanent fulltime role, Full time hours
Salary commensurate with the level of appointment, qualifications, experience and performance

Our client is a medium sized organisation operating in the Chemical and Process Industries. They design, manufacture and install unique heat recovery, pollution control and energy reducing systems. Their dedicated team of Chemical and Mechanical Engineers are augmented by an experienced work force of coded welders and fabrication engineers who turn their innovative, custom designed, heat recovery systems into a fully operational plant. One of their standard products are boiler economisers, of which they have successfully installed over 300 units. They now wish to appoint a suitably experienced Sales professional to further develop their client portfolio. 

The Role:
The Boiler Economiser Sales Engineer will be responsible for identifying and generating new business whilst developing and expanding existing business to achieve agreed annual targets. This includes all aspects of the business development process to include: 
Identifying leads.
Initialising contact with potential clients.
Proposal development.
Negotiating and contract details.
Ongoing customer liaison.
Working to and achieving financial targets.

Developing and utilising a network of contacts to help build the company’s profile and develop new sales.
Presenting the companies economisers to potential clients through direct communication in face to face meetings, telephone calls and emails.
Representing the company at industry events and tradeshows, to gain new business leads and contacts.
Creating and being accountable for all client proposals, contracts and any further documentation.
Thoroughly understanding client’s objectives including their Return on Investment (ROI) objectives.
Responding to tenders and requests for information in a timely manner.
Ensuring the company remains proactive and responsive to prospective clients.

What we are looking for:
An engineering degree or equivalent experience.
Substantial experience selling capital equipment. (ideally 3years+)
Proven track record of successfully developing new business in an engineering environment.
Substantial experience of high-level sales negotiations with end users, contractors or consultants. (ideally 3years+)
Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
Knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Understanding and ability to work to and achieve financial targets.
Ability to travel throughout UK & Ireland and work away from home as required.
Full clean driving licence.

Requirements – Desirable: 
Though not essential, it would be very advantageous for the successful candidate to have worked in the Industrial Boiler industry.
