£30k - £35k per annum DOE
Our client are looking for a Facilities Engineer to join their Thatcham team. The successful candidate will support the facilities management and day to day operations to maintain a clean, safe and secure working environment.
You will be supporting the facilities manager and act as their deputy as and when required.
You will maintain the building and core plant including both site security and safety.
You will undertake work programmes, report on progress and ensure the completion of tasks and projects.
You will be managing the contractors and supplies on site including reviewing their method statements and risk assessments. You will also conduct your own risk assessments and maintain the COSHH material safety data sheet.
You will be responsible for ensuring full compliance of the client’s health and safety procedures along with managing cleaning and sundry supplies as well as ensuring the correct stock control.
You will undertake planned preventative maintenance checks such as meter readings, water temperature checks, assist with AHU filter changes and undertake all services of electricity, gas, heating, air and water to ensure they are correctly controlled to meet legislative requirements. Skills and Experience:
Preferably a level 2 qualification in facilities services and/or a level 3 in facilities management.
Basic facilities or estate management knowledge.
Ideally you will have an understanding of basic technical aspects of property, air conditioning, chiller systems, fire protection systems, mechanical and electrical systems along with BMS systems, however this is not a necessity.
Experience of commercial of building maintenance, contract support/supervision and working in a facilities team is essential for this role.
Work independently and with others. You will have good communication skills and be IT literate with a good understanding of the standard Microsoft applications.
