CAD Draughtsman / CAD Technician required. My client is a Marine Engineering Company who due to continued growth are now seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This position would suit a candidate who is based in and around the Southampton area.
The successful candidate will operate in a varied role and be required to produce designs and production drawings based upon detailed specifications. It is envisaged that the CAD Draughtsman / CAD Technician will also liaise with internal teams on design queries in order to provide product solutions.
The successful CAD Draughtsman / CAD Technician will be given product-based training but will be expected to have an academic understanding of technical drawings and proficiency with Solidworks
CAD Draughtsman - Marine Position Overview
Reporting to a senior member of the engineering team the successful applicant will support the engineering team directly and create original drawings to detailed specification
Other responsibilities will include;
* Creation and development of detailed technical drawings using Solidworks.
* Managing data, such as drawings and parts, in a PDM system
* Developing improvements to existing catalogue parts
* Liaising with the manufacturing department to provide detailed designs and specifications.
CAD Draughtsman – Marine Position Requirements
* Proficiency with using Solidworks to create original drawings and designs
* Proficiency to read and interpret complex technical engineering drawings
* Previous design experience within Marine based company highly advantageous though not essential
* Previous experience imputting into PDM systems avantageous
* A Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture
* Exposure to the Marine industry advantageous
CAD Draughtsman - Marine Position Remuneration
* £20,000 - £22,000 (Dependent Upon Experience)
* 28days inc. BH (+1 day per year for service up to 5)
