This established British Manufacturing success story, part of a very successful worldwide engineering group, produces a wide range of precision engineered products that are used in safety critical and high reliability applications throughout the automotive and other demanding industrial sectors.  The continuous operation runs 24/7 and there is a high degree of automation surrounding a range of manufacturing processes which include precision presswork, metal forming and robotic assembly.

This position, which reports directly to the Managing Director, is central to the efficient operation of the plant with responsibility for delivering new technology, maximising equipment availability and delivering a sustainable improvement in the capability of the engineering team. The role will take-over leadership of an existing team covering maintenance, tooling and production engineering with significant internal resources and a pipeline of new production introductions.

Ideally a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, possessing excellent Leadership and Man Management capability, with demonstrable success in driving continuous improvement in a complex inter-connected business. Automotive sector experience within Tier 1 or 2 suppliers will be highly relevant although a background in other high volume, quality conscious manufacturing environments will also be of interest.
