Maintenance Engineering Manager
Maintenance Engineering manager - Stockport - FMCG - Automated Env
They are a globally renowned FMCG producer which continues investing in, improving and involving their people as part of one big success story.
The key focus of this role is to act as the catalyst for utilising the brand new planned maintenance system and ensuring that plant downtime is minimised. This is a broad and technically challenging role, comprising of identifying and implementing process/plant improvements, maximising planned maintenance on the site and coaching and developing team members to improve their maintenance skills. You will be utilising skills in planned maintenance, maximising efficiency gains, coaching and developing engineers and organising and general problem solving. You will also be responsible for driving change, managing a maintenance budget and on-going projects and asking probing questions to solve complex production and engineering problems.
The essential ingredients for the successful person include a genuine enthusiasm and passion for maintenance, people and plant improvements. This involves utilising tools such as TPM, 5S, SPC and SMED so experience in this would be of benefit. Effective leadership and management skills in a complex automated engineering environment are also needed, as well as an ability to ask the right questions to get to the root of key problems. You will also need excellent people management skills, leading and developing the team members skills to enable them to solve problems effectively. Ideally you will be electrically qualified although consideration will be given to mechanically biased engineering managers. You need to be a team player who has a passion for driving change and is keen to make the most of every opportunity you make for yourself.
