The Requirement is for an Engineering Manager with agile software development experience to work on the in-service Defence Targeting Toolset (DTT) System Project as it continues to deliver its product backlog.
The candidate needs to understands broadly how software is developed and integrated onto operational hosting environments.
They must be able to:
act as an intelligent customer working with Raytheon and all 3 services but predominantly Army (1 Arty Bde and desk officers at Directorate Information, DInfo).
give subject matter guidance and direction appropriate for an Agile software development (Raytheon employ Scrum agile software development methodology) project being used on operational deployed IT infrastructure.
An understanding of Agile is important to this role.
Highly Desirable: Experience of integrating software onto deployed operational networks iaw network joining rules specified in JSP 604 and good understanding of Microsoft Active Directory on Windows Server 2008 and 2012.
No coding experience is necessary. No Army experience is required, but would be helpful.
The candidate’s primary role is to provide software engineering / development / integration subject matter expertise to the Defence Targeting Toolset (DTT), but assisting with Joint Point Mensuration, Fire Control Battlefield Information Systems Application, Next Gen Weapon Locating System and any software related aspects to the portfolio of Arty Sys projects.
(DTT is a browser based software application, accessed through the internet browser. It can be configured to span end-to-end, exchanging targeting information between UK based HQs and users in deployed operational HQ environments.)
The candidate will also
draft and review GEAR products such as the EMP, Software Acquisition Management Plan, Configuration Management Plan and Technology Management Plan. Review
comment on contractor produced artefacts such as software development plans, technical documentation including user and system administrator / software setup manuals.
provide support to engineering assurance for a DTT Review
