Title: Driver / Engineering Assistant

Rate: £9.50ph (basic) / £14.25ph (O/T)

Duration: Temp-to-Perm

Location: Kempston, Bedfordshire


Our client has been in the repair, service and sales of pumps, motors, fan units and associated equipment since 1989. There continuing success has lead to the creation of the above position. Initially employed on a contract basis, the successful applicant will serve a 3 month temporary contract before being considered for transfer to a permanent position.

Duties will include:

-Sharing the driving of a company van, inclusive of travel in and around London.
-Assisting the engineer with loading and unloading of the van at the start and finish of each day, as well as at client sites.
-Assisting with basic electro /mechanical fitting work. (no formal training required)
-Maintaining an approachable attitude and assisting clients with any general queries whilst on site.
-Completing basic paperwork associated with the tasks completed / products delivered.
-Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned to you by the engineer you will be supporting.

Applicants will be / have:

-A clean, current UK driving licence
-A proven ability to do basic electro-mechanical work / use basic hand tools
-Be presentable, approachable and have a can do' attitude
-Be flexible about working hours and prepared to work overtime when required
-Be comfortable with the prospect of some heavy lifting (equipment, tools and products)
-Be comfortable driving on motorways and working at heights
-Be comfortable working on waste water processing sites
