Mechanical Technician (Engineer)
Our paper machine can fill a large sports hall, and with pumps and motors as well other technology to be maintained, we need your proven engineering skills within our team.
On a daily basis you will be responsible for troubleshooting technical problems and solving them through a root cause analysis approach and ensuring safety on site at all times. Aiming continuously for a zero breakdown production environment, you will also support and coach colleagues in handling technical issues. You will support the effective planning of shuts, as well as recognise underlying issues and be responsible for addressing them with actions, maintaining a budget at all times.
We are looking for you to demonstrate the following:
Time served apprenticeship, ideally up to HNC level or equivalent
In depth mechanical knowledge working on large industrial machinery including rolls, pumps, gearboxes, motors etc
Condition monitoring knowledge
Liaising effectively with contractors and suppliers
Experience of working with on-line maintenance planner systems
Able to prioritise tasks, organise and control workloads within tight timesclaes and to delegate effectively
A good communicator who is willing to train others in new systems and ways of working
Has courage to put forward own ideas, particularly in a root cause analysis discussions
Willingness to listen and learn from others
Can demonstrate that you take pride in the work that you do
Puts H&S first
SAP knowledge would be an advantage but training given if required.

You will be part of a day-based engineering support team, but you will work closely with colleagues who are working on a 5-shift pattern, so you will not see the same people each and every day. Therefore you will need to ensure that your communication is regular so that everyone is continuously up-to-date with any changes/maintenance plans.
