Sales Engineer (Rotating Equipment / Switchgear)
A Technical Sales Executive with experience of selling to Rotating Machine / Switchgear manufacturers
Working with a mixture of SMEs and large Engineering companies you will identify, quantify and prioritise industry and infrastructure projects that have influencers (owners, specifiers, engineers, contractors or resellers) within the defined region who are active within the OEM, Industry and Infrastructure marketplace. You will present solutions to specifying engineers (electrical, control, instrumentation, mechanical, structural) via technical presentations, site visits, installation training, promotion with resellers and other means as appropriate
To be successful you will need to create and execute targeted sales plan for multi-year engineering and construction projects, identify and communicate resources needed to meet sales objectives, plan and manage all customer contacts and meetings within the CRM system in addition to providing routine, accurate and meaningful market information, forecasting and product planning to management.
The successful candidate will ideally have a University degree or equivalent with mechanical or electrical engineering background coupled with a minimum of 3 years professional sales experience with preference to those that have a successful record presenting complex and/or technical solutions to decision makers, specifying engineers and/or project managers.
Typical customers will be OEM’s for the following types of equipment: - Turbines and Generators, Rotating Machines, Integrated Switchgear Housings/Enclosures, Acoustic Housings, Pumps, Compressors, Temporary Power, all working in various market sectors.
You will also need excellent interpersonal communication skills and have a proven ability and confidence to prepare and present solutions and strategies to groups of co-workers, clients or prospects as well as managing long-term and complex sales projects to success.
You must hold a full driving licence and passport as there is a fair amount of domestic and some international travel within this role.
