Assystem Energy & Infrastructure are recruiting for 3 Mechanical Design Engineers to work at our customers site in Derby on a contract basis.

You will be responsible for the creation of component/assembly designs and associated through-life justification that meet their requirements and product attributes of life, cost, availability, and safety margins

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• To understand Product system / sub-system requirements and derive Component requirements at task level.
• To produce robust design solutions which are insensitive to variation to address specified requirements.
• To collaborate and communicate design solution information with task stakeholders.
• To search for, capture, store, and re-use knowledge relating to design activity.
• To understand and apply the commodity standards and to create new standards where none exist.
• To liaise with manufacturing and service engineering to actively integrate the experience and knowledge from these areas.
• To check own and others design a solutions and techniocal for completeness and correctness.
• To manage work in accordance with project cost, timescale, and quality targets.
• To resolve problems through evaluative judgements. Analyses factual information from multiple sources, interprets results and identifies effective solutions by applying their own technical knowledge, expertise and engineering judgement.
• Is responsible for planning, project managing and delivering technical packages/investigations in line with programme milestones within agreed cost, timescale and quality requirements, including managing inputs from specialist areas and integrating activities to achieve the defined requirements.
