Your Dream Role

  • An exciting opportunity for a Lead Engineer – HVAC & Cooling join our successful, international business.
  • HVAC & Cooling Systems include Healing, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Powertrain cooling (fossil fuel engine cooling, charge air cooling, oil cooling and all required ancillaries systems cooling and or/heating) as well as Electric powertrain cooling and/or heating (axle drive, batteries etc).
  • Lead the support of New Product Introduction at UK and international build sites and manage build issues through to closure.
  • Lead the upfront development and testing of new designs to identify issues and improvements at the earliest opportunity and address them to product introduction.
  • Validate and ensure consistency or sub-system commodity plans across all programmes.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, record and manage engineering risks and mitigating actions. Seek assistance and guidance where required.
  • Partner with stakeholders in Chassis systems, Body systems, Electrical and Software functions, as well as Engineering, Commodity, Manufacturing, Quality, and Logistics to support the successful introductions of your designs into production and the field.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through safe, reliable, and fit for purpose designs.
  • Act as the key contact for arranging and coordinating activities with internal and external design partners or suppliers to achieve quality, cost, and delivery targets for each project.

About You

  • Experience in a similar Engineering lead position, preferably within the Automotive industry.
  • An active interest in vehicle-based technologies and developments.
  • A detailed understanding of vehicle design.
  • Software experience (such as Solidedge) is beneficial, simulation software (Kuli, GD Suite) preferred.
  • Relationship building will come easily to you, with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of seniority.
  • Strive for continuous improvement – always looking for ways to do things better.
  • Driven, curious, with a positive attitude and a can-do approach to problem solving.
  • Things can be hectic here. You will thrive on being busy and be an expert multi-tasker.
  • Generally, someone who is approachable, with a strong work ethic and a desire to succeed.


  • Educated to degree level in Engineering or have equivalent relevant experience.
  • HVAC experience is mandatory – preferably within the Automotive industry.
  • A self-starter who takes personal pride in all work from start to finish.
  • Willing to travel between UK sites as required.
