Our client is a multi-disciplined engineering company, they provide an engineering concept design service across a wide range of disciplines within several market sectors including oil and gas, marine, offshore renewable and petrochem.

They provide customers with rapid responses and a high level of customer service resulting in long standing business relationships of benefit to both parties. Their services include:

* Consultancy
* Concept Design & Development - FEEDs
* Detail Design, Drafting
* Modification, Assembly & Testing
* Commissioning & Offshore Support

Their offices in the North East are looking to recruit a project manager who is able to look after a small team and oversee the workload.

This challenging role will see you developing new ideas from concept stage into manufacturing detail. You will be responsible for generating mechanical / structural designs associated with a wide range of one off offshore engineering projects, typically related to specialist pipelay, subsea or marine equipment.

Resonsibilities:

Engineering work will include 3D modelling, design, calculations, analysis and liaison with drafting department. Technical report writing and presentation of designs to clients is also likely.
The individual will be responsible for taking an existing concept and/or developing their own concept into a robust, viable and cost effective design which can then be manufactured for use.
Any other task as requested by a Director of the Company.

Requirements:

A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent i.e. 2.1 BEng (Hons) or higher along with previous experience in a similar role.
At least 5 years experience of looking after a small team. Able to oversee your teams work as well as carrying out your own work.
The ability to engineer an innovative design and undertake calculations to verify its integrity is essential.
The ability to communicate engineering information effectively with colleagues, clients and suppliers.
Proficient use of Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD Package or similar. Experience with 2D AutoCAD, ANSYS Workbench and/or Stadd Pro would be beneficial.

This role is fundamental to the Company’s operations as they seek to grow their order book and expand their capabilities.
The role will be yours to develop and you will be encouraged to come up with your own ideas to benefit and improve the business whilst working closely with the rest of the team
